Dan Ransbottom and the former Eileen Smith of Claypool were married June 1, 1968, at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ralph Davison.

Dan and Eileen will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Old Train Depot, 115 E. Market St., Pierceton. All are welcome to join the celebration; no gifts, please.

The Ransbottoms have three children: David (Michelle) Ransbottom, Deb (Brad) Johnson and Deric (Heidi) Ransbottom, all of Claypool.

The couple have eight grandchildren: Mason Johnson, Alex Ransbottom, Zach Ransbottom, Madi Johnson, Cora Ransbottom, Luke Ransbottom, Kendyll Ransbottom and Caitlyn Ransbottom.
