SYRACUSE – Stanley R. “Stan” Insley, 78, of Syracuse, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Greencroft Rehab in Goshen.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1941, in Warsaw, to Robert G. “Bob” and Ethel Mae Rowe Insley. He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1959 from Syracuse High School.

He retired in November 2008 as a press operator at Parker Hannifin Corp. (formerly Goshen Rubber Co.) in Goshen after 43 years.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego, where he formerly served as assistant head usher and assistant sound/video operator; Syracuse Alumni Association; and Kosciusko County Historical Society. He was a former member of the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals (Syracuse division).  

He is survived by a sister, Jean Insley of Syracuse; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, with Pastor Greg Harden officiating.

Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
