A Warsaw man was arrested Wednesday on two charges of child molesting.

Nathan L. Chupp, 34, of 6097 W. CR 550N, Warsaw, is facing a charge of child molesting, a Level 1 felony; and a charge of child molesting, a Level 4 felony.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Friday, on Jan. 7 Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a complaint of child molestation that occurred Jan. 4. Deputies talked to the parents of the victim, who told deputies Chupp touched the victim inappropriately while being cared for at Chupp’s residence.

On Jan. 12, Safe Harbor Advocacy Center completed an interview with the victim, who reported being touched under her clothing in the barn on the Chupp property, according to the affidavit. The advocate asked if Chupp had asked the victim to touch him and the victim indicated the groin area on an anatomic drawing.

Deputies spoke to the parents, who stated the victim had disclosed to them Chupp had licked her after she was picked up from Chupp’s residence, where she was provided daycare. The victim’s parents said they confronted Chupp, who initially denied the allegations.

According to court documents, Chupp approached the victim’s parents on Jan. 7 and admitted to the allegations.

On Wednesday, deputies spoke with Chupp, who admitted, according to court documents, that he licked the victim, but denied any other fondling.

A no-contact order was issued.
