A Pierceton man is facing battery charges after causing injuries to his wife.

Samuel Frush, 54, of 204 W. Elm St., Pierceton, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday for domestic battery and battery resulting in bodily injury. His bond was set at $5,000 surety and $1,000 cash.





Court documents filed Friday list the charges as domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony, and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony.

On Wednesday, Pierceton Police Department officer Tim Sammons spoke with a woman who said she and her husband, Frush, got into an argument Tuesday at their Pierceton home.

She said that during the argument, Frush become enraged and battered her, causing injuries. She said that in the past he threatened to kill her and she believes that some day he will. She said Frush had been abusing her for a time.

Sammons saw injuries on the woman, including a 3-inch bruise to the bottom side of her right arm, deep bruising and a red scrape mark to her right shoulder, reddish marks on her left wrist and a large knot on the top of her head.

The woman said she thought her left hand was broken and she was going to the hospital for treatment.
