A Leesburg man was arrested Thursday after allegedly battering a boy under the age of 14 in July.

Timothy Michael Grevenstuk, 38, of 44 EMS B6 Lane, Leesburg, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 7:03 p.m. Thursday. His preliminary bond was set at $3,500.

Court documents filed Aug. 2 list the charges against Grevenstuk as battery to a person less than 14 years of age by a person at least 18 years of age, a level 5 felony, and battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

On July 19, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy James Smith was contacted by a Huntington Police Department officer in reference to a minor being battered. The officer said he was contacted by a man who found a cut and dried blood on the minor’s head. The minor told the officer that Grevenstuk had thrown a lighter at him and it hit him in the head.

Smith saw photos of the minor’s head and saw a cut with dried blood.

The minor said that Grevenstuk had battered him in the past, but no one else witnessed it.
