Police believe alcohol contributed to a three-vehicle crash Saturday that sent five people to the hospital.

According to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. Chris Francis, at 5:21 p.m. Saturday, Troy Johnson, 50, North Webster, was traveling east on CR 600N in a 2005 GMC Envoy. Johnson disregarded the stop sign at Ind. 15 and was struck by a northbound 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Daniele Dunithan, 39, of Andrews.

A 2013 Kia Sportage, driven by Kathleen Goodyear, 67, of Cromwell, was parked facing west on CR 600N, stopped at Ind. 15.

Johnson’s Envoy spun and struck the front of the Sportage.

Johnson, Dunithan and three minor children in Dunithan’s vehicle were taken by Lutheran EMS ambulance to an area hospital for minor injuries.

KCSO was assisted at the scene by Plaint Township Fire Department and Lutheran EMS.
