A Winona Lake woman is facing five felony charges for allegedly dealing meth and kicking an officer while being arrested.
Colleen Marie Quinn, 35, of 113 Mineral Springs Ave., Winona Lake, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 5:04 p.m. Nov. 18 and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, and battery on a law enforcement officer, all Level 6 felonies; resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Nov. 26 in Kosciusko Circuit Court, on Aug. 28 NET 43 Drug Task officers conducted a controlled purchase from Quinn for 30 grams of methamphetamine. The transaction was recorded by digital surveillance.
Court papers state that on Nov. 18, Indiana State Police conducted surveillance of Quinn’s residence and when they saw her, yelled for her by name. Quinn had an active warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court for the dealing and possession of methamphetamine charges in August.
Quinn ran from the state trooper and was found hiding between two houses, court papers state. According to court records, after arresting Quinn, police found in her purse digital scales with residue, a hypodermic needle and a wooden container that contained white crystal-like residue. The items tested positive for methamphetamine.
Police reports state that Quinn was “continually very loud and verbally combative” during her arrest, and that while the officer was attempting to obtain her phone, she tried to break her phone and kicked the officer’s hands.
She’s expected in court at 8:15 a.m. Dec. 12.
