A week ago, Metzger Trucking Company lost a beloved employee and friend, Dusty Carty.

He was survived by a wife and three young children.

Metzger Trucking Company’s employees wanted to do something to honor Carty’s life and to help his family. The company decided to host a charity truck show on June 1 at Metzger Trucking Company’s shop, 208 S. Jefferson St., Silver Lake. The show is from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. There is no cost to attend, but all donations are appreciated.

The truck show will be “a fun, laid-back event, just as Dusty would have wanted,” according to a news release. It is not judged. Children are welcome to attend this event.

Metzger employees will grill out and there will be a bounce house for children. There will also be a bake sale.

If you have a nice truck (no trailers), feel free to bring it to the truck show. There is no set entry fee.

“We just ask that you donate whatever you can to help Dusty’s family out,” the release states.

Email to let Metzger Trucking know you plan to attend the event so it can have a rough headcount.
