A ground-breaking ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon to mark the beginning of construction of the North Buffalo Street Redevelopment Project. The $27 million project will create an urban housing development within walking distance of downtown Warsaw. The project will be paid for in part with a $3.5 million grant from the Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority. The initial phase will include 52 townhomes, city homes and mews (a row of houses or apartments  built to look like former stables). Pictured are (L to R) Warsaw Common Council member Jerry Frush, City Planner Jeremy Skinner, Redevelopment Authority Board members Steve Truman and Max Mock, David Matthews of Matthews LLC, the lead development firm of the project, Mayor Joe Thallemer, Common Council member Diane Quance and Scott Lombard of SRL Corporation, the contractor for the project.
