Select Theatre at Warsaw Community High School is presenting a play this weekend with proceeds benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The play, “Good Wives,” is based on the book by Louisa May Alcott, author of “Little Women.” It shows the lives of the same characters from “Little Women” after the Civil War, according to director and theater teacher Dana McAfee. Jo is still writing stories, Amy is pursuing her art in Europe, Beth is dealing with her physical illnesses, and Meg is getting married to John Brooke.

“There are many sweet and charming moments in the play. The students choose a charity every year to give all of the proceeds and this year they have chosen Big Brothers Big Sisters. Representatives will be there with information about the program,” according to McAfee.

Show time is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the WCHS black box theater. All tickets are $8.

The cast includes Emma Spencer as Jo; Kyleigh Herring, Meg; Katie Jones, Amy; Deanna Folsom, Beth; Eleanor Williamson, Mrs. March; Joshua Fisher, Mr. March; Danie Miner, Aunt March; Maddy Morgan, Aunt Carroll; Michelle Apeland, Hannah; Luke Howard, Laurie; Jordan Norris, Mr. Laurence; Carter Schuh, Mr. Bhear; and Theo Cooke as John.
