Bring your child to the Syracuse Library on Jan. 10 for easy access to health services.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be in the parking lot behind the library, 115 E. Main St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children with no medical insurance who are up to 6 years old can walk in for free health care. Families with medical insurance are also welcome.





Get A Brand New Bag

Be one of the first to own a Friends of the Library book bag. The bag is for sale individually or filled with books during the Winter Carnival event at the Syracuse Library. Tickets for a hearty breakfast are available when signing up to enter the Winter Warm-Up 5K.

Plan to stop in from 9 a.m. to noon on the day of the Winter Carnival, Jan. 26.

Steady On

Bailey, our little doggie friend, is back for the winter to hear children reading stories. Children can visit Bailey on Thursdays at 4 p.m. String Theory is starting back for Thursday knitting and crocheting times for weekly sessions at 5 p.m. Thursday mornings continue to meet for a walk with Megan of the Trails, at 9 a.m. at the Community Center.

Every week, advanced chair yoga follows at 9:30 a.m. at the library. Enter at the back door. Restorative yoga meets at 10:30 a.m. at the community center. This is more breath focused yoga that moves at slower pace through the poses.

Other weekly groups meeting are Beginning Mahjong on Mondays at 1 p.m.

WorkOne brings full services to the Syracuse Library on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Those needing help filing unemployment claims can save a trip to Warsaw.

First Week

Decluttering, a support group for people who want to manage their possessions rather being managed by things, meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Magnolia cooking club invites people to come share recipes and cooking experiences on the second Wednesday of the month. The upcoming meeting, at 4 p.m. Wednesday, is a time to share finger-food snacks with a demonstration about preparing guacamole and salsa.

The last half of the week offers teens a gaming night on at 5 p.m. Jan. 10. The writing workshop meets at 11 a.m. Jan. 12. People who are writing for entertainment are invited, along with writers wanting to publish.
