Editor, Times-Union:

Smokey Joe's Cafe at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts in Warsaw is a must-see for everyone!

After enjoying a summer season of fantastic entertainment by these wonderful performers, most of whom have never been to Warsaw, Indiana, before, we attended the final show this evening.

It has taken all summer to become accustomed to these new and lovely faces on the round stage. And after getting to know them during the first five shows, we have been properly prepared to enjoy them as they performed (sang and danced) as themselves. It is their own names in the program this time, not their characters' names. What a joy to see them let loose and liven up the stage. These people really  love what they do and they do it very well!

So we left the theater tonight and said goodbye to another thoroughly enjoyable season. We sat with close friends and lingered in the parking lot talking and laughing long after the other cars left. We really didn't want it to end.

Creative Director Scott Michaels quite possibly may have saved the best for last. Maybe you've never heard of Smokey Joe's Cafe. Maybe you don't know the names of the song writers Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, but I promise you, you will know at least one number. Maybe it'll be the gospel number, or a blues number or a rock and roll number. And I also promise you, you'll enjoy so many of the numbers that you'll find yourself tapping your toes and clapping along with the beat and maybe even dancing in your seat a bit, like I did!

Smokey Joe's Cafe closes this Saturday night. There's still time to catch the show and support our local live theater.  What a gem!

A proud supporter,
