Editor, Times-Union:

I recently did not receive mail delivery nor pickup, so I decided to call the local U.S. Postal service in Warsaw, Indiana. To my surprise, I was told delivery wasn't made to my area due to staff shortages, people calling off work and a few resignations.

OK, I remember when I was growing up a Postal job was a dream job, benefits, pay, job security, did I mention benefits? What has happened to the taxpayer-funded mail delivery system in America?

Do the new hires receive the same benefits as in the past? If not, why not? And if they do, why are they not flooded with applicants for such a lucrative career?
