Stephen D. Orr

Stephen D. Orr, age 71, of Madisonville, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at 5:23 p.m. in his residence.
Stephen was born June 28, 1949, in Warsaw, to Herbert “Red” and Donna Cole Orr. He was united in marriage to Pamela Gentis Hanni on March 24, 1979, in Fort Wayne.
He was a 1967 graduate of Pierceton High School and furthered his education obtaining a degree from Purdue University in 1972 as a chemical engineer. During his employment, he held a position in chemical and process engineering and as an operations manager. He spent his entire career with Rea Magnet Wire, formerly known as Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire. Steve was known to be an expert mushroom hunter, gardener, chef extraordinaire and Pinochle card shark.
Stephen is survived by wife, Pamela Gentis Orr, Madisonville, Tenn.; sons: Lance and Nicole Massey Hanni; James Orr, Portland, Ore.; daughter, Carolina Orr and Keith Shelton, Shirley; brother, Mike and Cathy Orr, Warsaw; sister, Debbie (Orr) and Steve Holbrook, Venice, Fla. In addition, Steve is survived by grandchildren, Brenna Hanni, Collierville, Tenn; Rylan, Benjamin and Elena Grace Shelton, Indianapolis.
A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Jan. 21 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately at noon at the funeral chapel with Lew Collier officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required. The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged.
