MENTONE – Robin E. Briggs, 62, of

Mentone, Ind., passed at 10:25 a.m. on

Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Kosciusko

Community Hospital, of Warsaw, Ind.

She was born on May 21, 1957, in

Grand Rapids, Mich., to Vernon R. and

Elizabeth C. “Betty” Halstedt Spurlock.

She was married on June 18, 1989, in

Reno, Nev., to Jon K. Briggs; he survives.

She worked at the front desk for

Quality Inn of Rochester for 26 years.

She was a 1975 graduate of Marshall High School in San

Antonio, Texas. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren

and camping, especially Millcreek Reservoir in

Marshall, Ill., with her husband Jon. She loved cookouts, girl’s

day decorating the Christmas tree, and goodie night as well

as other gatherings with her family. She was known as the

“Terminator” at work and took care of the hotel guests assuring

them of a good night’s stay.

Survivors include her husband, Jon Briggs, of Mentone;

daughter, Tricia Jennings, of Mentone; stepdaughter, Athena

Scott, of Reno, Nev.; stepson, Jon Briggs Jr., of Reno, Nev.;

grandchildren, Erja, Marla, Racer, Geo, Sully and Levi; mother,

Betty Spurlock, of Mentone; sister, Kris and husband

Chuck Pletcher, of Etna Green, Ind.; brothers, William and

wife Rosemary Spurlock, of Warsaw, and Mike Spurlock and

fiancee Linda, of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces and


She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Spurlock


Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, Aug. 3,

2019, starting at noon and concluding in the late afternoon

at her sister’s residence. A graveside service will take place

at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 26, in the Mentone Cemetery with

Pastor Jeremy Welch officiating.
