SYRACUSE – Richard Crews, 81, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Syracuse.  

He was born on June 16, 1940, in Indianapolis, to Benjamin and Beatrice Thompson Crews. On Aug. 9, 1966, he married Eileen Riley, who preceded him in 2007. He was a United States Air Force veteran.  

He was a Wawasee Lake resident since 1954. He was a 1959 graduate of Syracuse High School. He retired from Weatherhead/Dana after 30 years. He was a member of the Syracuse Eagles and American Legion. He is survived by his two daughters: Sue Crews, of Fishers; and Carey (Andy) Horvath, of Plymouth; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Crews, of Syracuse.  Along with his wife, Eileen, he was preceded by a brother, Frederick, and his parents.  

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Cemetery with military honors provided by the Syracuse American Legion. There will be a celebration of life at the Syracuse Eagles immediately following.
