Mary Ellen Haney

NORTH WEBSTER – Mary Ellen Haney, 86, of North Webster, passed away at 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett.
She was born on Jan. 9, 1935, in Plymouth, to Forrest and Hona Lucile Craig Hawley.
She grew up in Bourbon, graduated in 1953 from Bourbon High School and in 1957 from North Central College in Naperville, Ill. She was married on July 12, 1959, at Jerusalem Evangelical United Brethren Church in Bourbon, to Galen Lyle Haney, who survives.
She was a homemaker and formerly taught school in Herscher and Glen Ellyn, Ill. She formerly lived in Naperville, Ill., and Lindenhurst, N.Y., before moving to North Webster in 1966, where she lived most of her life.
She is a member of the Church of God in North Webster, where she was part of a small group and ladies Bible study and the Hi Neighbor Club in North Webster.
She is survived by her husband, Galen Haney, of North Webster; daughter:?Lynn (David) Musselman, of Fort Wayne; two sons: Lyle Haney, of North Webster; and Lee (Amy) Haney, of Maineville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters:?Dorothy (Larry) Haney, of Milford; and Carolyn (Rick) Summerville, of Novi, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held at the North Webster Church of God, with?Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will take place in the Leesburg Cemetery. Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
