BOURBON – Jeffrey G. Kreft, 57, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at 1:16 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Jeffrey was born the son of Glen and Glenda Hartman Kreft on March 15, 1963, in Plymouth, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He was a lifelong roofer and was a member of the Local 23 union in South Bend.

He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. During his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting casinos. He thoroughly enjoyed life. He was a member of the Bourbon American Legion #424.

Those who will miss Jeffrey are his mother; daughter, Amber (Chad Stepp) Kreft, of Bourbon; sons, Kyle (Celina) Kreft, of Argos; Clark (Erica) Kreft, of Syracuse; Rodney Kreft, of Elkhart; and Ryan Kreft, of Syracuse; along with 11 grandchildren. Also missing him are his brothers, Jerry (Shari) Kreft, of Leesburg; Jay (Katy) Kreft, of Shawnee, Okla.; and his nephew, Shane Douglas (Amy) Kreft.

He is preceded in death by his father, who passed away on March 30, 2017.

There will be a private family funeral to honor Jeffrey. A public celebration of life will be held on Monday, Jan. 11 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Bourbon American Legion, 202 S. Main St., Bourbon.
