Elke Woxland
Tuesday, June 21, 2022 5:13 PM
Elke Woxland, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully just before 9 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw on Sunday, June 20, 2022, at the age of 74.
Born in Schrieshiem, Germany, on Sept. 11, 1947, she was the daughter of Max Purschke and Margareta Franz. In May of 1976, Elke and Stanley Woxland were united in marriage and spent 46 wonderful years together. Elke worked at RR Donnelley for many years as an examiner. She also was a member of the American Legion Post #49.
Elke was very loving, caring, and a social butterfly, never meeting a stranger. She adored her family and was the best mom. Being the crafty woman she was, she had a passion for crocheting and loved ceramics. She also enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. Elke and Stanley loved to travel, especially to Europe where most of her family was. Together, they loved spending time together out on the boat on Chapman Lake. She was truly one of a kind.
Along with her husband Stanley, Elke is survived by her children: Diane Woxland and Katherine (Christopher) Osborn; stepchildren: Jeanette (John) Jacobson, John (Candi) Woxland and James (Tina) Woxland; grandchildren: Conrad, Matthew, Erik, Andrew, Jack, Taylor and Katelin; great-grandson, Declan; sister, Ute Berg; and brothers: Max and Roland Purschke. She is further survived by many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with the care of Elke. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, June 25 at the American Legion Post #49, 301 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
To make a donation in Elke’s honor, memorial gifts are appreciated to the Animal Welfare League.
