Donald 'Hose' William Holterman
Tuesday, January 5, 2021 5:19 PM
Donald “Hose” William Holterman, of Winona Lake, passed away at 10:04 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at his residence at the age of 72.
He was born on June 16, 1948, in Fort Wayne, to Louis Gutlip Holterman and Hazel Ruth Creek Holterman. On July 10, 1972, he was married to his best friend, Linda Lou Schmidt Holterman. They raised three children together, celebrated becoming grandparents multiple times and shared 44 years of marriage together before she passed away on May 21, 2017.
Hose was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 48 years, where he was a member of North Webster Church of God. He was a 1966 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He spent 40 years working at RR Donnelley in Warsaw, retiring in 2006. Hose and his wife, Linda, were both avid golfers and were members of Rozella Ford Golf Course since 1976. For many years, he and Linda spent their winters in Florida, and when they were home, they enjoyed spending time on the Barbee Chain of Lakes with their family. Hose enjoyed playing ANY type of card game, especially euchre, with family and friends. In his lifetime, he had the joy of playing many different golf courses, including The Plantation Course in Kapalua during his 35th wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii. Myrtle Beach was also a favorite spot to play some golf. Hose loved his family very much and thoroughly enjoyed making everyone laugh with his quick smile and a “You betcha!” He will forever be loved and remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons: Tony (Brooke) Holterman (Springdale, Ark.); and Rod (Corrie) Holterman (Warsaw, Indiana); daughter: Alicia (Scott) Whitaker (Winona Lake, Indiana); 10 grandchildren: Tate, Mateya, Tregan, Mia, Caleb, Jacob, Taylor, Mason, Jocelyn and Addison; and his sister: Joanne (Bill) Thompson (Fort Wayne, Indiana).
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Hose will have his life celebrated with a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor William Whitaker.
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.

So sad to learn of Hose passing. He brought a smile to my face on every encounter I had with him - what a great guy! Sincere and heartfelt condolences to the entire family - we lost “one of the best”
