SOUTH WHITLEY – After averaging better than 30 points and getting double-doubles in back-to-back Three Rivers Conference games, Whitko junior point guard Brett Sickafoose has been named the Times-Union Athlete of the Week for the period ending Feb. 1.
A week ago tonight, Sickafoose had 25 points and 11 rebounds in the Wildcats’ 66-62 loss to Peru. The next day, Saturday, he dropped 36 points and collected 10 rebounds in a 81-58 victory over Maconaquah.
For the season, Sickafoose has averaged 22.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and a steal per ballgame.
After Thursday’s game was postponed, Whitko is back in action Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. tipoff at Lakewood Park Christian.
