Wawasee tied for third place, Warsaw came in sixth, Tippecanoe Valley. eighth and Triton tied for 12th Saturday at the Penn Regional wrestling tournament.
The top four placers in each weight division advanced to Saturday’s East Chicago Semistate.
Moving on for the Warriors were senior Garrett Stuckman (12-0) first at 152 pounds, junior Jace Alexander (35-1) first at 126 and freshman Logan Stuckman (36-2) first at 106, sophomore Dylan Tom (31-10) second at 120, freshman Gavin Malone (22-10) second at 138, senior Logan Baugh (22-14) fourth at 170 and freshman Hunter Miller (25-12) fourth at 113. Logan Stuckman produced three pins while Garrett Stuckman and Alexander both had two pins and a decision.
Semistate qualifiers for the Tigers were junior Jacob Linky (31-3) first at 160 (with two pins and a decision), senior Brock Hogenson (24-9) third at 132, junior Brandon Estepp (24-7) third at 182, senior Brock Hueber (32-7) fourth at 195 and sophomore Andrew Ross (25-12) fourth at 126.
Advancers for the Vikings were three sophomores — Drake Montelongo (32-4) second at 113, Branson McBrier (22-10) fourth at 138 and Brandon Hammer (25-7) fourth at 160.
No Triton wrestlers qualified for semistate.
Mishawaka (186 poimts), Penn (127), South Bend Riley (117.5), Wawasee (117.5) and Plymouth (101) accounted for the top five teams. Warsaw scored 59.5 points, Tippecanoe Valley 29 and Triton 0.
At the Peru Regional, Manchester finished sixth and qualified five for the Fort Wayne Semistate and Memorial Coliseum — sophomore Dylan Stroud (35-0) first at 126, senior Bryce Kamphues (24-2) second at 285, senior Ashton Moore (32-4) second at 195, junior Elijah Burlingame (28-9) third at 132 and junior Trescott Duffy (12-8) third at 160.
The top five teams were Western (143.5), Oak Hill (106), Wabash (90), Eastern of Greentown (78.5) and Peru (78). Manchester scored 77 points.
At the Carroll Regional, Whitko tied for 18th place and did not qualify for the Fort Wayne Semistate. Garrett (106.5), Carroll (100), Fort Wayne Snider (92), New Haven (68.5) and Columbia City (59) were the top teams.
