MISHAWAKA — Three Wawasee wrestlers earned the right to wrestle on the second day of the 42nd Al Smith Classic at Mishawaka High School.

Coming through the losers’ bracket in the 32-team event were senior Dylan Tom (126 pounds), junior Logan Stuckman (132) and junior Gavin Malone (160). Tom went 3-1 (including two pins) Wednesday while Stuckman (overtime decision in his final match) and Malone (four pins) were both 4-1.

Also competing for the Warriors was freshman Colten Coburn (106), sophomore Noah Wolf (113), freshman Jay Miller-Harris (120), junior Hunter Miller (138), freshman Ethan Rodriguez (145), senior Landen Dilley (152), junior Cameron Zimmerman (170), senior Tim Shortt (182), junior Blair Donovan and junior Colt Dolsen (220).

Wawasee (76 points) was tied for 14th at the end of Day 1. Crown Point (176) leads the field.

Warsaw (53) is tied 22nd with no second-day qualifiers. The Tigers were represented by sophomore Bryce McNees (106), sophomore Elias Garza (120), sophomore Isaiah Martinez (126), sophomore Aaron Ross (132), freshman Danny Moon (138), junior Grant Cook (145), senior Andrew Ross (152), junior Bryson Brown (160), junior Jaxson Cooper Walters (170), sophomore Brandon Cardona (182), sophomore Nathaniel Rosas (195), sophomore Isaac Beam (220) and sophomore Gideon Castro (285).
