Wawasee at Plymouth

PLYMOUTH – Wawasee football earned its first win of the season Friday night, defeating Plymouth 45-28 on the road. The Warriors are now 1-3, 1-1 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Wawasee will look to make it two in a row next week at home against Concord.

Maconaquah by Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – After a long week for the program, the Whitko football team fell to 0-4 on the season after a 53-8 loss to Maconaquah. The Wildcats are now 0-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Whitko is back in action next Friday at North Miami.

Warsaw/Wawasee at NLC Championships

Warsaw finished its conference season tied for first place in the NLC after winning the conference tournament with a team score of 353 Saturday. The Tigers finish the season tied with Plymouth. Wawasee finished the season and the tournament in seventh place.

Warsaw’s Abbey Peterson and Olivia Robinson-Gay finished in first and second place in the tournament, earning the pair all-conference honors. The Tiger’s Tessa Graney and Wawasee’s Rylee Firestone were named as honorable mentions. Warsaw head coach Jack Carpenter was named co-coach of the year.

Warsaw and Wawasee both play Whitko this week before sectionals next weekend. The Tigers play on Tuesday and the Warriors on Wednesday.


Warsaw at LaPorte Invitational

LaPORTE – Warsaw finished its day at the LaPorte Invitational with a 1-3 record after beating St. Joseph and losing to Carroll, Valparaiso and Munster. The Tigers are now 11-6 this season.

Warsaw’s win over St. Joseph came in straight sets. In the team’s first set against Munster, the Tigers fell in a heart breaker 35-33. Kaylee Weeks led the team in aces with eight and kills with 44. Avery Hales had 77 assists and Ellie Hepler had 47 digs.

 Warsaw hosts Columbia City Tuesday.

Boys Soccer

Caston at Lakeland Christian

WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian earned its third win of the season in a 2-1 thriller over Caston Saturday. The Cougars are now 3-6 this season.

All three goals came in the second half, and LCA struck first on a goal by Adrian Bowdler. After Caston tied the game up ten minutes later, Lakeland Christian found a winner in the 77th minute off of the boot of Jashawn Zielasko.

The Cougars take on Culver Community on Tuesday.

West Noble at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester girls soccer gave up a goal in the first half and was unable to answer with one of their own in a 1-0 loss to West Noble. The Lady Squires are now 3-5-2 and play their next game Monday against Tippecanoe Valley.
