Triton at Caston

FULTON – The Triton Trojan football team bounced back after a tough loss to LaVille last week, crushing Caston 46-6 on the road Friday night to improve its record to 2-1.

After being somewhat contained last week, junior running back Anthony Schuh posted his usual type of score line, carrying the ball 12 times for 220 yards and four touchdowns, including a long of 65 yards.

Three receivers had more than 35 yards, led by Amari Snyder’s 45. Starting quarterback Cole Shively went 4-8 for 104 yards. Shively would find the end zone twice with his legs.

Triton stays on the road next week, taking on Bremen in a nonconference matchup. Kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.  

Manchester at Wabash

WABASH – Manchester’s late lead was spoiled by a Wabash comeback in a tough conference loss for the Squires Friday night, as the team fell 28-27 on the road. Manchester is now 0-3 this season, 0-2 in the Three Rivers conference.

Despite the loss, the Squires found plenty of success in the ground game, getting over 300 yards on the ground. Junior running back Garrett Sites had 199 yards on 25 carries as well as two touchdowns. Sophomore back Mason Rooney also found the end zone and finished with 108 yards rushing. Senior receiver Memphis Wood caught two passes for 46 yards.

Manchester is back at home Friday when the team hosts fellow-area school Tippecanoe Valley. Kickoff at 7 p.m.

Whitko at Rochester

ROCHESTER – Whitko is still looking for its first win of the season after suffering a tough 70-0 loss at the hands of TRC foe Rochester Friday. The Wildcats are now 0-3 and take on Maconaquah Friday.

Warsaw at Fort Wayne North Side

FORT WAYNE – The Warsaw boys soccer team continued its dominant form to start the season Saturday, defeating Fort Wayne North Side 7-0 on the road. The Tigers are now 8-0-1 after winning their sixth game in a row.

Noah VanPuffelan scored two goals, and five other Warsaw players including Eduardo, Escutia, Colton Martin and Kevin O’Neill combined for the other five. In the weekly Indiana Coaches Association soccer polls that came out Monday, the Tigers were ranked 13 in 3A.

Warsaw plays its next game Tuesday against Mishawaka.

Wawasee at Blueberry Tournament

Wawasee extended its winning streak to four after winning two games at a tournament Saturday. The Warriors defeated both Kankakee Valley and Logansport by a score of 2-1. Wawasee is now 5-2 and plays its next game Tuesday at home against NorthWood.

Oregon-Davis at Lakeland Christian

WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian picked up its second win in three games Saturday, defeating Oregon-Davis 9-0 at home. The Cougars are now 2-5 this season. Andrew Bosch and Josiah Rice each had two goals for LCA. Katie Reimink had three assists. The Cougars are back in action Tuesday against Blackhawk Christian.

Girls Soccer

Warsaw at Argos

ARGOS – Warsaw got back into the win column Saturday, defeating Argos 7-1 on the road to improve to 5-2-2 this season.

Senior Rylee Burns had two goals as well as an assist for the Tigers. Freshman Lola Pepper also added two goals. Warsaw will stay on the road for its next game, a Tuesday contest against Mishawaka.

Wawasee at Goshen

Wawasee suffered its second straight loss Saturday, falling 7-0 to Goshen on the road. The Warriors are now 1-4-3 this season.

Josalyn Kolberg made eight saves in the game. The Warriors take on Central Noble on the road Wednesday evening.
