Wawasee at Columbia City

COLUMBIA CITY – Wawasee struggled on the road against Columbia City Thursday night, falling 10-2 to the Eagles. The Warriors are now 1-2 this season.

Grant Brooks led all Wawasee hitters with two hits. The Warriors struggled to find the strike zone, issuing walks that were taken advantage of by Columbia City hitters.

Wawasee plays its next game Monday night at Warsaw to open up Northern Lakes Conference play.

Triton at Elkhart Christian

ELKHART – The Triton Trojans are still searching for their first win this spring after falling 12-2 to Elkhart Christian Thursday evening. The Trojans are now 0-4 this season.

Joey Borntrager had a hit in three at bats and drove in one of Triton’s two runs. Jacob Pitney struck out nine batters in 4.1 innings of work.

Next up for Triton is a road game Monday against North Judson.

Lakewood Park at Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko continued its unbeaten run to begin the season Thursday, defeating Lakewood Park 7-4. The Wildcats are now 3-0 this spring.

Max Platt was excellent on the mound for Whitko, striking out nine hitters and giving up just one unearned run in six innings of work. Platt also had a hit and an RBI, as did Easton Grable.

Whitko plays its next game at Heritage Saturday.



Softball

Tippecanoe Valley at Winamac

WINAMAC – Tippecanoe Valley remains undefeated after a 12-4 road victory over Winamac Thursday night. The Lady Vikings are now 3-0 this spring.

MaKaylie Costello and Molly Moriarty both had three hits apiece for Tippy Valley. Costello and Corinna Stiles led the team with three runs scored. Stiles pitched a complete game, striking out eleven while only giving up five hits.

Valley plays its next game Saturday against John Glenn.



Goshen at Triton

BOURBON – Triton suffered a loss at home Thursday night, falling 14-3 to Goshen. The Lady Trojans are now 2-4 this season.

Next up for Triton is another home game, this time against Wawasee Saturday morning.



Track

Whitko/Lakeland Christian at Rochester

ROCHESTER – Whitko boys and girls track took second place at a meet at Rochester Thursday, with Lakeland Christian coming in third.

All Whitko boys earned points at the meet, and on the girls side Emerson Harper had another good turnout, taking first place in the 100 and 200 meter runs.

Lakeland Christian had eight personal bests on both the boys and girls sides.



Concord at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee dropped a matchup with Concord at a meet Thursday, falling 84-30.

Dylan Konieczny and Trinity LaJoice both took first place in hurdle events.



Boys Golf

Warsaw at Fort Wayne Canterbury

FORT WAYNE – Warsaw took to the links and secured a victory over Fort Wayne Canterbury, winning 166-210.

Ben Brander led all competitors by shooting a 37. Not far behind him were Jack Yeager and Lewis Turley, who shot a 41 and 42 respectively.

Warsaw’s next contest is at the Don Dickens Classic Saturday morning.



Girls Tennis

Tippecanoe Valley at Knox

KNOX – Tippecanoe Valley picked up a sweep over Knox Thursday night, winning 5-0.

Madelyn Weaver picked up a straight set victory 6-4, 6-1. On the doubles court, Lily Ault and Andie Schwenger picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win.

Tippy Valley competes next at a tournament at Plymouth Saturday.
