Wildcats Win TRC T&F Title; Parker Sets Meet Record

MARION – The Three Rivers Conference held its boys and girls track and field championships on Tuesday at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Whitko tied for first with Maconaquah in the boys meet and Maconaquah won the girls meet.

Whitko’s Alex Wilson won the 200-meter sprint and finished second in the 100-meter race. He finished second in the long jump.

Shad Ebbinghouse won the 110-meter hurdle race and tallied second in the 300-meter hurdles.

Cameron Sapp finished second in the discus. Ronald Patrick received second in the pole vault. 

Valley’s Dakota Parker won the 400-meter event and set a TRC record. He ran it in 49.89 seconds, breaking the previous record of 50.18 seconds.

Jameson Baker had first-place throws in both the shot put and discus events.

Manchester’s Isaiah Davis finished first in the high jump. He earned third in the long jump event.

Remington Trick (400-meter) and  Nick Wagner (100-meter) both had fourth-place marks.

For the girls, Whitko’s Breanna Keim finished second in the 200-meter and fourth in the 100-meter dashes. 

Carissa Beck received second in the shot put event for the Lady Wildcats.

Manchester’s Kailea Kerr tallied third in the 400-meters. Emily Mize finished second in the discus. Katie Barker finished second in the 100-meter hurdles.

Valley’s Sydney Wagner finished fourth in the long jump. Caliegh Byrer finished third in the 100-meter hurdles.

Bethany Christian Rolls Over Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley girls tennis team lost 5-0 to Bethany Christian on Tuesday.

Valley’s Lea Stouder lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Makayla Sandbakken (No. 2) and Courtney Randall (No. 3) both lost 6-0, 6-0 in singles play.

Tiphanie Hodge and Makenna Bradley had a tough match at No. 1 doubles and fell 6-2, 6-2.

The No. 2 doubles pair of Kaleigh Shumaker and Morgan Gilbertson lost 6-0, 6-1.

The Lady Vikings host Southwood on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Lady Squires Remain Perfect In TRC Play

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester girls tennis team won 5-0 over Northfield on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in Three Rivers Conference action.

The Lady Squires won all five matches in straight sets.

Manchester’s Kelsey Eichenauer won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Halle Briner won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Lydia Little won 6-0, 6-0.

The No. 1 doubles pair of Eva Bazzoni and Kendra Auler won 6-0, 6-1. Rebekah Pyle and Lauren Metzger won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Squires travel to Peru tonight for a 5 p.m. match.

Pioneer Clips Valley

AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team lost 7-6 to Pioneer on Tuesday.

The Vikings took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the third inning, but allowed two runs in the top of the fifth to go behind 7-6.

Valley’s Ethan Yates led the team with two RBIs. Lucas Walters had a double and an RBI.

Drew Hartman took the loss for the Vikings. He pitched three innings and allowed six hits. He gave up five earned runs.

Valley hosts Peru tonight. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.

Leedy Medals; Wawasee Golf Beats Northridge

MIDDLEBURY – The Wawasee Warrior golf team won 173-183 against Northridge on Tuesday.

In the Northern Lakes Conference match, Wawasee’s Zach Leedy was the medalist with a 35. Evan Dippon and Dillon Drake both shot a 44.

Jared Krugman and Luke Weisser each shot a 50 to round out the golfers for the Warriors.

The Wawasee junior varsity team won 183-197 against Northridge.

Wawasee competes against Concord and Elkhart Memorial on Thursday.
