The Lady Tigers had their modest three-game win streak snapped in a 62-54 loss at Homestead Wednesday.

Warsaw built a 9 point lead in the second quarter thanks to So. F Brooke Winchester, who scored 9 points in the first quarter and 12 in the first half.

But a late push by the Lady Spartans got them to within four with :30 to play in the second quarter. With Warsaw in possession, an early shot gave Homestead a last-second opportunity and Molly Stock hit a 50-foot heave at the halftime buzzer to get the home team within one.

Warsaw never fully recovered.

Homestead (15-4) outscored Warsaw 14-6 in the third quarter to take a 42-35 lead into the fourth, and made their free throws down the stretch to post the eight-point win.

Winchester finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Fr. Joslyn Bricker also scored 19 before fouling out with :29 to play to lead the scoring for Warsaw (15-5).

The varsity will shift gears and prepare for their final conference game of the season at Concord Saturday. They have already secured a least a share of the 2023 NLC title, and a win would earn them the championship outright.
