Triton Falls To 3A No. 4 NorthWood At Trojan Trench

BOURBON – Class 3A No. 4 NorthWood outscored Triton 24-5 in the second quarter, and went on to a 57-35 victory at the Trojan Trench Friday night.

Ross Johnson had 18 points for Triton, and Beau Hepler had eight.

The Panthers cruised to a 64-28 win in the junior varsity game. Trenton Kreft had seven points, and Chase Butler and Jared Bules added six points each for Triton.

Triton (0-3) travels to South Bend Career Academy (0-3) for a game Tuesday.

Vikings Fall On The Road

KNOX – Tanner Trippiedi went for 20 points and Cam Parker added 17 for Tippecanoe Valley in its 68-60 boys basketball non-conference loss at Knox Friday night.

Eian Coad hit eight three-pointers for Knox and finished with 28 points. Teammate Kooper Broeker went 12 of 14 from the free throw line and had 21 points.

The game featured 18 treys and 41 fouls called. Knox hit 22 of its 29 foul shots.

Alex Morrison finished with a game-high eight rebounds for Valley.

The Vikings (0-3) travel to Hamlet on Tuesday to face Oregon-Davis.

Wildcats Drop TRC Opener

SOUTH WHITLEY – Senior River West had a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds for Whitko in its 73-59 boys basketball loss to visiting Wabash in the Three Rivers Conference opener for both teams.

Brett Sickafoose hadded 11 points and six boards, and Spencer Sroufe had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats.

Whitko (2-1, 0-1 TRC) will play a non-conference game at Central Noble Tuesday night in Albion.

Dragons Down Cougars

WINONA LAKE – Visiting Argos got off to a 15-7 lead after the first quarter and rolled to a 62-23 non-conference boys basketball win at Lakeland Christian Friday night.

Elijah Raymond had eight points and four rebounds for the Cougars. Lakeland Christian didn’t shoot any free throws in the game.

Lakeland Christian (1-2) is back in action tonight at Hamilton.

Lady Cougars Falter Late

CULVER – Lakeland Christian held a 24-23 lead after three quarters, but host Culver Community outscored the Lady Cougars 12-4 in the final period to claim a 35-28 non-conference girls basketball win Friday night.

Tori Calizo, Jess Slone and Brady Gross had eight points each for the Lady Cougars. Slone had 10 rebounds as well.

Lakeland Christian (4-3) plays at Hamilton at 4 p.m. today.
