CARMEL – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its all-conference awards and major award winners on Thursday November 18.

10 Spartans were honored on this year’s award listings. Senior Andrew Kibler (Cape Coral, Fla.) highlighted the all-conference honors for Manchester, earning First-Team All-HCAC recognition as a kicker. Kibler finished the season 8-11 on field goal attempts. He also went 11-12 on PATs. Kibler earned D3football.com National Team of the Week honors on October 12 following a 5-5 performance against Defiance College in which he knocked in field goals from 41, 38, 25, 34, and 25 yards. He was also a two-time HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week selection this season. Lastly, Kibler was also recognized with Second Team All-HCAC recognition as a punter.

Three other Spartans picked up Second Team All-HCAC recognition on Thursday morning. Senior cornerback Jaquan Walker (Johnson, Fla.) earned second team all-league recognition for the second time in his career on Thursday. Walker finished the season with 23 total tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 2 fumble recoveries. Fellow senior Jalen Masden (Evansville) also earned Second Team All-HCAC honors. Masden led Manchester with 89 total tackles on the season. He added 10 tackles-for-loss and 4 sacks. Masden added 2 fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup. A Campbell Trophy Semifinalist this fall, Masden earned HCAC Defensive Player of the Week honors October 4. The final Spartan to earn Second Team All-HCAC honors was first-year returner Carmelo Gurley (Birmingham, Ala.). Gurley was named the HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week on October 25 after returning a kickoff 85-yards for a touchdown against Rose-Hulman.

Six Spartans picked up Honorable Mention All-HCAC recognition on Thursday from the league office. On offense, senior wide receiver Harrington Greer (South Bend) led the Black & Gold with 32 receptions, 314 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

On defense, linemen Marvin Collins (Riviera Beach, Fla.), Jabari Webb (Villa Rica, Ga.), and James Mathews Jr. (Palatka, Fla.), as well as linebackers Devontay Moore (Indianapolis) and Willis Sands Jr. (Miramar) all earned Honorable Mention All-HCAC honors. Collins finished with 43 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for-loss, and 5 sacks. Collins also had 3 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries. Webb ended the season with 42 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for-loss and 2 sacks, while Mathews Jr. added 6.5 tackles-for-loss and 3 sacks.

Devontay Moore tallied 33 tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss, and 5 sacks this fall while adding an interception, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick. Willis Sands Jr. finished second on the squad with 52 total tackles. He added 6 tackles-for-loss and 4 pass breakups.
