Thursday: Tippecanoe Valley Boys Soccer Defeats Peru

PERU, Ind. – Tippecane Valley boys soccer took down Peru on the road Thursday, coming away with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. The Vikings record moves to 4-6-1 this fall.

The two teams went into halftime tied at a goal apiece. Tippy Valley was able to find the back of the net one time in the second half to secure the victory. Carson Craft and Caleb Petgen both scored goals for the Vikings in their victory.

Tippecanoe Valley plays its next match Monday, against an unknown opponent.

 

Warsaw Volleyball Takes Down Plymouth

WARSAW – Warsaw volleyball picked up a straight set victory over Plymouth Thursday, 25-18, 25-17, 25-19.  The Tigers record now stands at 13-10, as the team extends its winning streak to three.

Kaylee Weeks led the team in kills, Kylie Smith had five aces, as well as a team-high 13 digs. Avery Hales had 27 assists.

Warsaw plays its next game at home against Carroll.

 

Valley VB Defeats Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley volleyball took down Manchester in straight sets Thursday, earning a 26-24, 25-15, 25-22 victory. The Vikings move to 10-4 on the season, including 5-0 in conference play. The Lady Squires drop to 3-9.

Leading the way for Tippy Valley was Ava Smith, who had a team-high seven kills. Erika Henderson led the team with five aces, and Macy Kirchenstein had 16 assists. For Manchester, McKelvey Espeset had six kills, while Aliala Atienza had eleven digs.

Tippecanoe Valley faces off with Carroll Saturday, while Manchester plays in the Eastbrook Invitational.

 

Triton VB Extends Win Streak

GOSHEN – Triton Volleyball defeated Bethany Christian in straight sets Thursday night. The win moves the Trojans to 14-3 this season, and extends the team’s winning streak to eight games. Triton is yet to lose a conference game this season.

The Trojans play their next game Tuesday against Winamac.

 

Whitko VB Falls To Southwood

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko volleyball dropped a match in straight sets to Southwood Thursday, losing 25-23, 25-18, 25-9. The loss drops the Lady ‘Cats record to 6-11 this fall.

Audra Brandenburg led the team in kills once again, finishing with 10. Madison Cripe had eleven digs for Whitko, and Abbi Frank led the team with a block and two aces.

Next up for the Lady ‘Cats is a road game against Bethany Christian Saturday.

 

Warsaw Girls Soccer Drops Game To Penn

WARSAW – Warsaw girls soccer dropped a close game to Penn Thursday, 2-1. The loss drops the Tigers record to 8-5 this season.

Penn was able to take an early lead in this one, scoring just ten minutes into the match. Rylee Burns was able to answer for Warsaw tying up the match. But the Kingsmen were awarded a penalty kick in the 51st minute of the game and were able to capitalize, scoring what proved to be the deciding goal.

The Tigers will look to get back in the win column when they host Mishawaka Marian Saturday.

 

Wawasee Girls Soccer Loses to Elkhart Christian

ELKHART – Wawasee girls soccer dropped a tough match to Elkhart Christian Thursday, losing 5-2. The Warriors have lost three games in a row, dropping their record to 1-7-2.

Both of Wawasee’s goals were scored by Morgan Reel. The freshman has been very impressive this season. Goalkeeper Lillian Beer made four saves in the loss.

Wawasee is back in action Tuesday when the team faces off with Northridge.

 

Warsaw Boys Tennis Defeats NorthWood

WARSAW – Warsaw boys tennis picked up a victory over NorthWood Thursday, winning 3-2.

The Tigers were led by their three athletes in the singles competition, who all picked up wins that gave Warsaw the edge in the match. Will Boren was dominant in his contest, winning 6-1, 6-0. Keller Bailey was strong in his match, winning 6-3, 6-3 after dropping his first set 2-6.

The Tigers play their next match against Concord Monday.

 

Wawasee Boys Tennis Defeats Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA – Wawasee boys tennis picked up a win over Mishawaka Thursday, defeating the Cavemen 3-2. The Warriors are now 10-7 on the season.

Zeke Keim picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win in the singles competition, the only Warrior to win his match. In doubles, Wawasee picked up two wins that ended up deciding the contest. Devon Kuhn and Ty Brooks were dominant, winning their match 6-0, 6-0.

The Warriors play their next contest Monday at NorthWood.

 

Valley Girls Golf Ties Season-Wins Record

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley tennis picked up a 180-194 victory against Rochester in the team’s regular season finale Thursday. The win moves the Lady Vikings record to 17-4 this fall, tying the school record for wins in a season.

Madelyn Weaver led the team, shooting a 41. Not too far behind her, Kaydence Mellott and Molly Moriarty both shot a 45. Cheney Canada, a four-year player who was honored before the contest for senior night, shot a 51.
