Northridge at Warsaw

WARSAW – In a battle for first place in the Northern Lakes Conference, it was the visitors from Northridge who would gain the edge in the standings with a 4-2 victory over Warsaw. The Tigers record falls to 4-4 this season, 3-1 in the NLC. Warsaw is a game behind Northridge for first place.

Hunter Dippon and Keegan Sherman led the team with two hits each. The Tigers outhit the visitors eight to four. On the mound for Warsaw was Kyle Showley, who pitched a complete game, striking out seven.

Warsaw will try to pick up a conference victory Friday when it travels to concord.

North Miami at Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko is still searching for its first Three Rivers Conference victory after falling 7-1 to North Miami Wednesday night. The Wildcats are 4-6 this season, 0-3 in the TRC.

Whitko had five hits on the day, all singles. Brent Bowers drove in the lone run. Breyden Kirkdorffer also had a base knock. Max Platt threw six innings for the Wildcats, giving up four earned runs on eight hits while striking out five.

Whitko plays its next game Friday at Adams Central.

Plymouth at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee remains winless in conference play after an 8-5 loss at the hands of Plymouth Wednesday night. The Warriors are 2-8 this spring, 0-4 in the NLC.

Lucas Ringler and Grant Brooks both had two hits for Wawasee. The Warriors made costly errors and struck out during key chances.

Wawasee hosts Goshen Friday in a conference matchup.

Peru at Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley had its losing streak extended to three Wednesday night after falling 5-3 at the hands of conference foe Peru. The Vikings are 2-5 this season, 0-3 in the TRC.

Braxton Davis had a very nice game for the Vikings. He had a two RBI double in the sixth inning, and also pitched three innings, striking out three while only giving up one unearned run. Hunter Craft had a base hit and stole two bases.

The Vikings have the weekend off and will play North Miami Monday.

Manchester at Maconaquah

BUNKER HILL – It took ten innings of play, but Maconaquah came away with a conference victory over Manchester Wednesday, winning 5-4 in extras. The Squires are now 2-6 this season, 1-2 in the TRC.

Manchester held a two run lead on two occasions in the game, after the first inning and going into the bottom of the seventh. Maconaquah answered both times, and was able to force extras. The Braves scored in the bottom of the tenth to walk it off.

Manchester travels to Fort Wayne to take on Wayne Friday night.



Softball

Warsaw at Northridge

MIDDLEBURY – Warsaw fell to 1-4 in the NLC following a 15-0 loss to Northridge Wednesday night. The Tigers overall record drops to 3-6.

Warsaw’s lone hit came off the bat of Lauren Eastwood.

The Tigers will look to get back in the win column Friday when the team hosts Concord.

Peru at Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley remains undefeated in conference play after a 7-5 vicory over Peru Wednesday night. The Lady Vikings are 10-3 this season, 3-0 in the TRC.

Brayden Baney and Corinna Stiles both drove in two runs on one hit. MacKaylie Costello added an RBI on a triple. Amanda Eaglin struck out 13 in six innings pitched.

Tippy Valley has its next action Saturday when it hosts a tournament.

Wawasee at Plymouth

PLYMOUTH – Wawasee failed to hold onto a late lead in a 9-8 loss at the hands of Plymouth Wednesday. The Warriors are now 5-7 on the season, 2-2 in the NLC.

Brooke Catron led all Wawasee players with four runs driven in on two hits. Arisai Garcia led the team with four hits, one for extra bases. Up 8-4 going into the seventh, Wawasee surrendered five runs to give Plymouth the walk off victory.

Wawasee travels to Goshen to take on the RedHawks Friday.

North Miami at Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko dropped a close conference matchup with North Miami Wednesday, falling 2-0. The Lady ‘Cats are now 2-7 this season, 0-3 in the TRC.

Cassidy Skinner had both of Whitko’s hits, and she also stole a base. Maddie Dafforn picked up the loss despite both of her runs allowed being unearned. She struck out four in seven innings pitched and gave up four hits.

The Lady ‘Cats travel to Bunker Hill to take on Maconaquah on Monday.

Manchester at Maconaquah

BUNKER HILL – Manchester softball dropped its seventh game in a row in a 10-3 loss to Maconaquah Wednesday. The Lady Squires are now 1-8, 0-2 in the TRC.

Emma Evans had three hits and an RBI for Manchester. Paxton Baker had two hits.

Manchester takes on Triton Friday night.



Track

Warsaw/Concord at Goshen

GOSHEN – Warsaw boys track remained undefeated after winning a conference meet against Concord and Goshen. The Tigers are now 6-0, 5-0 in the NLC.

Noah Chew had a personal best of 53’0” to win the shot put. The Tigers won the meet on the final event of the evening, the 4x400m. Jeremy Johnson took the lead in the first 100m and the Tigers never let up.

Warsaw will host the Max Truex Invitational Friday night.



Boys Golf

Warsaw at Carroll

FORT WAYNE – Warsaw picked up a victory over Carroll at Autumn Ridge golf course Wednesday, winning 148-151.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Cal Hoskins, who shot a 35. Ben Brander and Aidan Bowel both shot a 37.

Tippecanoe Valley at Knox

KNOX – Tippecanoe Valley picked up a victory against Knox Wednesday, shooting a 178.

Greg Miller and Ethan Young had standout performances for the Vikings, with Miller scoring a 38 and Young a 41.



Girls Tennis

Northridge at Warsaw

WARSAW – Warsaw continued a strong week with its third win, defeating Northridge 3-2. The Tigers are now 3-3 this season, 2-1 in the NLC.

Addie Lind and Regan Brouwer both picked up straight set victories in singles play, with Brouwer winning 6-4, 6-0.
