Tippecanoe Valley Boys Soccer Drops Sectional Match Against Argos
FORT WAYNE – Tippecanoe Valley boys soccer dropped its opening match of the sectionals tournament to Argos Monday, losing 6-0. The Vikings finish the season with a 7-9-1.
The Dragons jumped on Valley early, scoring three goals in the first 20 minutes of game action. Argos was the bigger, stronger and more experienced team. The Viking defense played a lot better in the second half, allowing just one goal with 90 seconds left in the match.
Tippecanoe Valley will return to action next season with a group of core players returning.
Wawasee Boys Soccer Falls in Sectional Loss To West Noble
SYRACUSE – Wawasee boys soccer had its season ended by West Noble Monday as the Warriors dropped the opening match of sectional play 7-1. The Warriors finish the season with a 4-12-1 record.
West Noble took a 4-0 lead into the halftime locker room, and didn’t look back from there, scoring three more goals in the second half. The lone Wawasee goal came off of the head of Mason Possell, who guided in a ball off of a corner kick by Rueben Camargo.
Wawasee will lose a lot of key seniors, but will retrurn a fair share of its core next season.
Manchester Volleyball Falls To Oak Hill
NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester volleyball dropped its match to Oak Hill Monday, falling in straight sets 26-28, 23-25, 16-25. The Lady Squires have dropped five matches in a row, and are 5-16 this season.
Blake Drasny led Manchester with eleven kills, and Paxton Baker had a team high 22 assists. Olivia Auler had 18 digs, the most on the team.
The Lady Squires wrap up conference play against Wabash Tuesday, before taking on Blackhawk Christian Thursday.
Whitko Volleyball Drops Close Match To Northfield
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko Volleyball dropped a tight five-set match to conference foe Northfield Monday, losing 22-25, 25-21, 15-25, 25-19, 13-15. The Lady ‘Cats are now 9-17 this season, 2-6 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Whitko had 14 aces in the match, three each by Abbi Frank and Madison Cripe. Cripe also had 15 digs. Reese Bradford had a team-high 13 assists and Audra Brandenburg had nine kills and two blocks.
Whitko finishes up conference play against Rochester Thursday.
