Youth, Adult Soccer Information

Registration for youth outdoor soccer runs until Aug. 15 for ages 3 to 10 at the Kosciusko Community YMCA.  It’s easy to sign up and a membership to the Y is not required.

The Y’s soccer program is a safe environment for children to learn practical and social skills and develop positive values. Modified rules and equipment will be used to ensure the greatest opportunity for your child to succeed.

The league offers four divisions, Division I for ages 3 to 4, Division II for those age 5 to 6, Division III for those 7-8 and Division IV for those in 9-10.  Division III and IV will have a 45-minute weeknight practice on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. Division I and II will practice before their game. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and are held at Harrison School sports fields.  In addition to being a good opportunity for kids, soccer will also give parents an opportunity to take an active role as a volunteer coach.

Register at the Y in Warsaw or North Webster or online at  Registration will be open until Aug. 15, with a late registration, including a late fee until Aug. 24.  The first game will be Aug. 25 and the last Oct. 6.

The YMCA provides financial assistance for those who qualify.  Please apply three weeks in advance.  We want to make sure that your children can be involved in a program that will give them the opportunity for teamwork, activity and character development.

In addition to the Youth Soccer League, the Y will be offering an Adult Soccer League on Wednesday nights, starting Aug. 8 until Oct. 10.  Games will be 7-v-7 competitive soccer and are played at the CCAC.  Register at the Welcome Center or by emailing

Cheer Team Information

This fall, the Kosciusko Community YMCA will be offering its cheer team for the second year.  The YMCA’s Warsaw Legacy Elite team will be for athletes 5-14 years of age, based on age and skill level.  The team will take place from Aug. to April, with the registration and evaluation for team placement being on Aug. 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Aug. 19 from 2-4 p.m.  Cheer participants will need to be present for both sessions.

Teams will have one team practice and one tumbling/stunt practice each week. They’ll learn a competitive cheer routine which includes tumbling, jumping, stunting and dance and will then compete from Jan. through April.

No previous experience is necessary to join. The Warsaw Legacy Elite emphasizes fun, skill acquisition and teamwork.  Participants must be Y members.

This year for the first time, the Y will also be offering CheerAbilities, a cheerleading team for those age 5 and up with special needs.  Starting Oct. 6, the team will have one practice each week and two competitions in Feb. and March.
