ANGOLA – Mother Nature forced the postponement of Saturday’s Class 2A boys soccer sectional final at Angola High School.

On Monday night, the 15th-ranked West Noble Chargers proved to be the storm the Wawasee Warriors couldn’t handle.

West Noble opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a goal from Adrian Pizana, and then made it hold up.

With a balanced scoring attack that saw five Chargers score, West Noble also got goals from Ty Barnes, Baltazar Guzman, Henry Torres and Eddie Barrientos.

West Noble improved to 16-3 and advanced to Saturday’s Marian Regional.

Wawasee, which led West Noble 2-0 at halftime in a game in August before losing 4-2, finished the season at 7-11.

The Chargers will play No. 7 West Lafayette in Saturday’s regional semifinal. Top-ranked South Bend St. Joe will face No. 14 Hammond Bishop Noll in the other semifinal.
