The Warsaw boys tennis team was senior strong Wednesday.

The Tigers’ four seniors all won matches to lead their team to a 4-1 non-conference win over East Noble on Warsaw’s senior?nigh.

“Everyone went out today, and I loved the attitude and the effort they portrayed for Warsaw,” said Warsaw coach Stacy Lind. “They just came out and conquered.”

Warsaw’s marquee duo, the No. 1 doubles senior tandem of Spencer Britton and Nolan Knight, gritted out a tough win.

They fell behind with a 6-2 loss in the first set before regrouping.

“They can step back and see where their mistakes and their errors are, and correct that and change up as they’re moving forward to get those wins,” Lind said.

That’s exactly what they did in the second set, winning key points for the 6-2 victory.

They duplicated the 6-2 score in the tiebreaker for the match victory.

Senior Reuben Williams earned the win on the No. 2 singles court, topping the competition 6-2, 6-3.

The Tigers pulled off two sweeps; Brian Elliott won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and senior Jarett Orr teamed up with Michael Ray at No. 2 doubles for the 6-0, 6-0 win.

Lind commended the four seniors for the example they set for the underclassmen.

“They’ve been natural leaders out here,” she said. “All these kids are going to go far, academically and leadership-wise, and just (as) role models.”

Warsaw finished its regular season home schedule with back-to-back wins this week. The Tigers will travel to NorthWood today for a match at 4:30 p.m.
