SYRACUSE?– Chris Pena kicked in three goals to lead the?Wawasee boys soccer team to a 3-2 win Wednesday over Columbia City in a home match on senior night.

“Great to see the boys play tough today, and to get the win on senior night,” said Wawasee coach Jordan Sharp. “It was a needed win against a talented Columbia City side.”

Two of Pena’s goals were assisted by Juan Hurtado, while the third was unassisted.

Wawasee’s Dillon Drake was in the net with nine saves, while the Warriors (3-7) finished with 10 shots on goal.

Wawasee lost 2-1 in the JV match.



Vikings Routed By Rochester

AKRON – Joel Cisneros scored a goal, but the Tippecanoe Valley coed soccer team lost 6-1 to Rochester on Wednesday in a home match.

The Vikings will host Peru today at 5:30 p.m.

Trojans Breeze By Falcons

WALKERTON?– Four Trojans took the top four spots to lead the?Triton boys cross country team to a 17-38 victory Wednesday at John?Glenn.

Russell?Reichard placed first in 19:57, while Brandon Kitch was second (19:58), Jesse Page came in third (20:26) and Josiah Page finished fourth (20:29).

Triton’s Trent Barnhart placed seventh (21:38).

Neither Triton nor Glenn had team scores in the girls meet.

Triton’s Briana Wilhite placed third (25:03), Makenna May was fourth (25:11), and Annie Hall finished fifth (27:41).

Triton Topped By Plymouth

WINONA?LAKE?– The Triton girls golf squad lost 204-219 to Plymouth on Wednesday at Stonehenge Golf Club.

Triton’s Samantha Edington shot a 51, while Maddie Ritchison carded a 52, Alysha May posted a 56 and Delanie?Groves recorded a 60.

Groves was named the Hoosier North Athletic Conference MVP with an 18-hole round of 96, as the Lady?Trojans won the HNAC Tournament on Saturday.



Wildcats Fall To Zebras

SOUTH?WHITLEY – Nate Smith earned a win, but the Whitko boys tennis team lost 4-1 to Rochester on Wednesday in a home match.

Smith rebounded from a loss in the first set of No. 3 singles to win the second set by an 8-6 tiebreaker.

He won the third-set tiebreaker 10-4.



Valley Blanked By Maconaquah

BUNKER?HILL – The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team lost 5-0 Wednesday at Maconaquah.

The Vikings lost both doubles matches by forfeit.

Valley next will play Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Whitko.
