NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester University Football announced a nine game schedule for the 2020-21 academic year on Tuesday.

The Spartans have a pair of non-conference games scheduled for the month of October. Manchester will open the 2020-21 campaign on Oct. 10 at nearby Trine University. The Spartans will then host Adrian College Oct. 17 in Spartan Stadium.

Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play will begin in late February for the Black & Gold. Manchester will open its conference slate with a three-game home stand, beginning with a matchup against the Lions of Mount St. Joseph Feb. 27.

Manchester will then welcome Bluffton and Franklin to Spartan Stadium on March 6 and 13, respectively. Last year, the Spartans stunned the Franklin on the road 30-21, earning their first victory over the Grizzlies in more than two decades.

The Spartans will then play their next two contests on the road, traveling to Defiance College March 20 and Anderson University March 27. Manchester has won nine straight Bronze Ball Game matchups against Anderson. A year ago, Manchester topped the Ravens 70-54.

The Black & Gold will host Hanover College April 3 before concluding its conference calendar at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on April 10.

At the conclusion of the season, there is a slot on April 17 for a potential regional ‘bowl game’ matchup.

Health officials, school administrators, coaches, and student-athletes are diligently working to make outside competition a reality during the 2020-21 school year. Many game times are still to be determined and the schedule is subject to change due to Covid-19 pandemic. Policies on fan attendance are still forthcoming.
