Flooding in northern Illinois along the Rock River area has caused the Central Region Show Ski Tournament to be moved to Warsaw.

The tournament, originally scheduled to be held at the Backwater Gamblers’ show site in Rock Island, will now be hosted by the Lake City Skiers on July 14-15 at Hidden Lake in Warsaw.

Individual competition will begin on July 14 at 8 a.m. with Swivel Ski, Adagio Doubles, Team Jump and Freestyle Jump.

Team Competition will follow with the Lake City Skiers being the first team on the water.

The tournament will resume July 15 at 8 a.m.

The tournament will give the Warsaw area an estimated $200,000 economic boost and draw show ski teams from five states, all competing for a spot in the Division 1 National Show Ski Championships to be held in Janesville,  Wis., Aug. 10–12.
