WINONA LAKE - The Grace Lady Lancers used a strong second half to ease away for a 75-47 win over Grace Christian on Thursday.

Grace improved to 10-8 on the season thanks to drilling 11 shots from the 3-point line.

The Lady Lancers gained an advantage early in the contest thanks to its 3-point shooting. Kyannah Stull, Kamryn Hostetler and Maddie Ryman each drilled a triple in the quarter as Grace grabbed an eight-point edge.

But the Tigers rallied back and only trailed 15-13 by the end of the first quarter. Grace committed seven turnovers in the quarter.

Grace head coach Dan Davis turned to his freshmen to start the second quarter, and the rookies rewarded that decision.

Grace scored the first 18 points of the second quarter, aided by a ferocious defensive front. Kiersten Poor scored seven points in the quarter, and Kenzie McMahon added six more.

The Lady Lancers led by as many as 20 in the quarter, but again the Tigers clawed back to end the stanza.

Grace scored two points over the final 4:52 of the first half, allowing the Tigers to come within 35-26 at halftime.

Poor had a team-high nine points at halftime, and McMahon added eight. Grace shot 37 percent from the floor but forced the Tigers into 16 turnovers.

The Lady Lancers began to build a cushion in the final minutes of the third quarter. Ryman buried two straight triples, and Kiara Gill and Stull also made 3-pointers as Grace held a commanding 56-38 lead.

Davis used his bench extensively in the fourth quarter, enabling the team to gain rest as Grace played its third game in six days.

The Tigers never mounted a comeback and slowly faded in the 28-point defeat.

Stull scored a team-high 12 points with two steals, and McMahon poured in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.

Poor had a balanced stat line of 10 points, 7 boards and 5 assists, and Ryman sank a trio of 3s for her nine points and three assists.

Kaylie Warble grabbed a team-best nine rebounds, and Kate Rulli had five points and eight boards.

Hostetler scored nine points with four rebounds, Kaylee Patton had 6 points, 2 assists and 2 steals, and Gill finished with 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

The Lady Lancers are home again on Saturday. Grace continues Crossroads League play against Huntington at 1 p.m. at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.
