HAMILTON – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team lost 102-37 to Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Friday night in the sectional semifinal matchup.

The loss breaks a six-game winstreak for LCA and the team finishes the season with the most wins in program history after capturing its first postseason victory Wednesday.

The No. 1 team in Class 1A made 17 three-pointers in the victory, compared to the Cougars’ six. Blackhawk shot 68 percent from long distance.

The Braves (23-2) tallied 38 points in the opening quarter, scoring more than LCA did all game. 

The Cougars (13-12) put 10 points on the board in the first period behind two triples. 

Blackhawk stiffened its defense in the second quarter and allowed LCA to only make one basket. 

Senior Jalan Mull made six of his seven threes in the first half for the Braves, pacing the team with 22 points for the game.

In the third period, the Cougars scored 14 points, more than the whole first half combined. The team made three long balls in the quarter.

During the fourth quarter, LCA held Blackhawk to 18 points and two three-pointers.

Cougar senior Landon Twombly  finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Junior Jake Harmon finished with 10 points. 

The Braves will play Lakewood Park at 7:30 p.m. in the Class 1A Sectional 52 championship tonight at Hamilton. The Panthers won 53-33 over Hamilton in the other semifinal contest.
