SOUTH WHITLEY – Recent Whitko graduate Tanner Gaff has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball and athletic careers at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, according to a press release from Wildcat head coach Erik Hisner Friday evening. Gaff will study sports management.
Gaff was a four-year starter for the Wildcats and this spring helped lead the team to a school-record 22 wins and the program's first Three Rivers Conference championship since 1985. He also set single-season school records in bating average (.505), hits (47), runs (39), walks (27), total bases (74), on-base percentage (.620), slugging percentage (.796), games pitched (15), and complete games (5). He set career school records in games played (116), batting average (.413), walks (87), on-base percentage (.443), wins (19), complete games (14), and shutouts (3).
