SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko scored nine runs in the second inning and five more times in the fourth to finish off a 14-0, five-inning win over visiting North Miami Wednesday.
The win allowed the Wildcats to claim a share of the Three Rivers Conference baseball title, along with Tippecanoe Valley, Peru and Southwood.
The Wildcats played station-to-station baseball, keeping the line moving during their rallies. Eight different Whitko players drove in a run; Tanner Gaff had a two-run double and Landen Goff drove in runs by being hit with a pitch in the second inning, and on a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
Drew Bradford pitched all five innings for Whitko, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out six.
Whitko improved to 19-6 overall, and will travel to LaGrange for a doubleheader against Prairie Heights, with first pitch at 10 a.m. Saturday.
