SYRACUSE – The Wawasee High School athletic department presented its spring sports awards in a ceremony Monday evening at the school. Winners are listed below.
Baseball – Gavin Bontrager, Warrior Way Award; Chase Rookstool, offensive player of the year; Lucas Garza, pitcher of the year; Reider Hundley, defensive player of the year; Joshua Slabaugh, junior varsity player of the year; Jacob Krugman, freshman player of the year.
Girls tennis – Charity Parker, Warrior Way Award; Meg Heinisch, varsity most valuable player; Courtney Lawson, varsity most improved; Brooke Fick, varsity mental attitude; Brianna Haessig, JV MVP; Janae Hapner, JV most improved; Taylor Mock, JV mental attitude.
Boys golf – Cam Adams, Warrior Way Award; Jeffrey Moore, MVP; Dillon Drake, freshman of the year; Jayce Boatwright, mental attitude; Kyle Weideman, most improved; Cal Heinisch, Coaches Award.
