BREMEN – Triton’s Shayla May came up just short of winning an epic girls tennis sectional match against Bremen’s Kylie Phillips at No. 1 singles, and it was enough to end the Lady Trojans season with a 3-2 loss to the Lady Lions Thursday.
The decisive match took four hours and 20 minutes to complete. May took the first set 7-5, then Phillips won the next two sets in tiebreakers to send her team to the sectional title match.
