Summer Sports Camps Offered at Grace College
WINONA LAKE – A variety of sports camps for student-athletes in kindergarten through high school will be offered at Grace College throughout the summer. Camps for boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, girls’ volleyball, baseball, softball, tennis, track and golf will take place. Day camps and overnight camps are available.
Young players will have the opportunity to hone their skills, interact with other athletes, learn from collegiate student-athletes and coaches, and study sport and teamwork in a Christian context.
“We look forward to hosting young people on campus throughout the summer months.  Lancer camps offer athletic development as well as spiritual enrichment to participants,” said Chad Briscoe, director of athletics at Grace College.  “Our top-notch coaches and staff are committed to building relationships with each player and facilitating sportsmanship and character development among campers.”

Viking Booster Golf Outing June 25
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Booster Club will host its annual golf outing at 8 a.m. June 25 at Mill Creek/Round Barn Golf Club in Rochester. A luncheon follows the tournament at noon.
The entry fee is $200 for a four-person team, with tee and 19th hole sponsorships available. There will also be a longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin contests.

SYRACUSE – Registration forms are available in the high school athletic office for Wawasee summer camps, most of which begin later this month.
Grades designated are for the level student-athletes will be in this fall:
Boys' & Girls' Tennis:  8-9 a.m. June 27-29 ($25), grades 4-12.
Wawasee/LYC Tennis:  6-7 p.m. July 19, 21, 23, 26, 28 & 30, ($30), grades K-5.
Boys' & Girls' Soccer:  June 11-14 ($25)
1st-3rd graders:  6:00-7:30 pm
4th-8th graders:  6:00-8:00 pm
Boys' & Girls' Intensive Soccer:  9-10:30 a.m. June 6-16, Monday-Thursdays ($100), all grades

Benefit Saturday at Akron Speedway
AKRON – A fundraiser will be held for Dusty Staton at Akron Speedway Saturday night. Staton, of Albion, was riding an ATV home from a friend’s house about 5:30  p.m. Nov. 4 when he struck and killed a deer. Staton sustained a serious brain injury in the accident, and his recovery in a long-term rehabilitation facility in Fort Wayne continues.
Racing will begin at 7 p.m. tickets are $5 for general admission, and a pit pass is $10. Kids under 5 are $5.
