ROCHESTER – Manchester junior Rae Bedke was a double winner in the Rochester girls track sectional Tuesday, taking the 1600 and setting a new school record in the 3200.
The Lady Squires finished fourth in the team standings, best among schools in the Times-Union coverage area. Whitko was sixth, Tippecanoe Valley seventh and Triton eighth. Bremen was the sectional champion, edging Culver Academies and Plymouth for the title.
Bedke covered the 1600 in 5:23.25, four seconds faster than Hannah Fisher of Culver Academies. She won the 3200 in 11:27.18, a full 20 seconds better than runner-up Adrianna Dague of Caston. She also anchored the 4x800 relay team; Bedke and teammates Emily Lynn, Sarah Rohr and Jaelyn Webb set a school record of 10:10.61, good for second place in the sectional and a spot in the Kokomo Regional on May 24.
Others scoring points for Manchester were Tahnee Fuentes, seventh in the 100; Webb was fifth and Rohr seventh in the 800; Clara Burdette, sixth in the 3200; Alexis Wagoner, tied for fourth in the high jump; Mikayla Genovese was sith and Bailey Sewell seventh in the shot put, and Sewell was fourth in the discus. The 4x100 relay team was sixth, and the 4x400 relay squad was fifth.
Whitko’s Suzanne Sickafoose punched her ticket to the Kokomo Regional by winning the 400 and finishing third in the 200. She’ll be joined by Kaitlyn Reed, who won the high jump.
Lady Wildcats who scored points included Reed, fourth in the 100; Brigit Nemitz, fourth in the 1600 and fifth in the 3200; and Lyndsey Sapp was eighth in the discus. The Lady Wildcats’ 4x800 relay team finished sixth, and the 4x100 relay was 10th.
Tippecanoe Valley will be represented at the regional next week by Makayla Ruiz, the runnerup in the shot put, Sarah Tucker, who finished third in the 100, and Lexi O’Connell was third in the 100 hurdles. In the 200, Tucker finished fifth and O’Connell seventh.
Others registering points for the Lady Vikings were: Alyssa  Brito, sixth in the 400; Anna Walters, sixth in the 800; and Jalyssa House, eighth in the 100. The 4x100 team was fifth.
Triton’s Katie Hepler will make the trip to Kokomo after her third-place finish in the pole vault. Lady Trojans scoring in the meet were Baylee McIntire, fifth in the 400; Abigail Powell, fifth in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles; Alysha May, fourth in the pole vault; and Jaela Meister, eighth in the shot out. The 4x100 relay team was fourth, and the 4x400 relay finished sixth.
