Holes-In-One Abundant
Several holes-in-one have been recorded this month and over the current golf season at Warsaw-area courses.
For the first time in Rozella Ford Golf Club’s 56-year history, a pair of aces were made on the same day. On June 7, Zach Martz holed out from the tee on the 167-yard second hole with a 6-iron. That ace was the fourth reported on the hole this season, which is believed to be a single-season record for any hole on the course.
Logan Jones then had his hole-in-one on the 186-yard fifth hole, using a 7-iron.
Other holes-in-one at Rozella this season were made by Dave Zimmerman on March 8 and Keegan Westafer on April 15, both on the second hole.
Don Phifer recorded a hole-in-one on No. 7 at Raccoon Run June 13. The shot was witnessed by Phil Gates.

Open Tennis At Valley Courts
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley tennis courts will be open for anyone who wants to play from 6:30-8 p.m. on June 29, July 13 and 20.
High school and middle school students are expecially encouraged to attend, but the courts will be open to the community.

Run/Walk To Benefit Habitat For Humanity Family
WINONA LAKE – The second-annual Kosciusko Board of Realtors Build A Home 5K Run/Walk will be held at 8 a.m. July 16 on the trails of Winona Lake.
This year, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to help the Lee and Gina Ratliff family build their Habitat home. Medals will be awarded for first place in various age groups, plus second and third place overall for men and women. Advanced registrants will receive a T-shirt.

Lake City Skiers Hosting Tournament On Saturday
The Lake City Skiers Water Ski Show Team will host The City of Lakes Show Ski Tournament Saturday. Teams competing in the tournament are Grand City Ski Team and Silver Lake Ski Team, both from Michigan, Chippewa Lake Ski Team from Ohio and the Lake City Skiers representing Indiana.
Individuals competition will begin at 8 a.m. with girls swivel ski, adagio doubles, team jump and freestyle jump competition.
There will be a short break before the team competition begins around 10 a.m., depending on the number of individual entrants.
This is a USA Water ski sanctioned event and is free to the public. Concessions will be available at the site. Bleacher seating is available, or fans can bring lawn chairs. Spectators will see a variety of acts including high speed barefooting, freestyle jump, wakeboard, sky ski and four-tier human pyramids.
The show site is located at 2455 Hidden Lake Drive in Warsaw. near the intersection of U.S. 30 and Ind. 15 behind Smith Tire.

Whitko Girls Basketball Camp
PIERCETON – Whitko’s girls basketball program will host its summer camp at Pierceton Elementary School June 27-29. Girls age 4 to this fall’s fourth graders runs from 5-6 p.m. and costs $15 per camper, and fifth to eighth graders will be from 6-7:30 p.m. and costs $20.
In the younger group. the focus will be on the development of basic skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting.  Lowered rims will be used to better help with proper form when shooting. There will also be daily games and skills challenges.
The older group will have a similar focus, but will also work on development of advanced skills through the use of high school-level drills.
Campers registered by Thursday will be assured of a camp shoe bag with a Whitko logo. Walk-up registrations will be accepted, but the shoe bag cannot be guaranteed.

Viking Booster Golf Outing June 25
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Booster Club will host its annual golf outing at 8 a.m. June 25 at Mill Creek/Round Barn Golf Club in Rochester. A luncheon follows the tournament at noon.
The entry fee is $200 for a four-person team, with tee and 19th hole sponsorships available. There will also be a longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin contests.
