Slow Start Dooms Wawasee In Loss At East Noble

KENDALLVILLE – Wawasee boys basketball fell behind early and could not recover, as the Warriors were defeated 53-36 Friday night in a non-conference game at East Noble.

Ethan Hardy and Keaton Dukes led Wawasee, but their 12 and 10 points, respectively, were not enough to avoid defeat.

The Knights, benefitting from 44% shooting from behind the three-point arc, outscored Wawasee by 14 in the first half. Chris Hood proved difficult to stop as well by finishing the night with 19 points and eight rebounds.

In the JV?contest, Landon Gause scored 13 points while Collin Roberson accumulated 12 points to hold off East Noble’s fourth quarter surge. The JV?side won 50-45.

Next up for Wawasee is a home, non-conference game against Tippecanoe Valley on Friday to wrap up the regular season.
