Tippecanoe Valley at Northfield

WABASH – Tippecanoe Valley picked up its second win of the season in its Three Rivers Conference opener against Northfield Friday night, defeating the Norsemen 49-19. The Vikings are now 2-0 this fall.

Junior Wade Jones set the tone early, scoring a 65-yard rushing touchdown on the first play of the game. Nate Parker scored three touchdowns in the game, two in the first half as well as the final score of the game. Parker had over 70 yards rushing and receiving. The Vikings finished the night with 392 yards of offense, 106 of them passing yards by Cody Eastgate, who finished 4-4 with 2 TDs.

Tippy Valley is back at home next week, hosting Peru at a 7 p.m. kickoff.

West Noble at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee is still searching for its first win of the year after dropping its home opener 35-24 to West Noble Friday. The Warriors are now 0-2 this season.

The Wawasee side that was shutout last week showed a lot of progress. The team scored all 24 of its points in the final three quarters. The defense had trouble getting off the field, as West Noble ran 30 more plays than the Warriors.

Wawasee opens up Northern Lakes Conference play Friday against Goshen. The Warriors will be at home with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.

Bluffton at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester fell to 0-2 this season after dropping its non-conference home game to Bluffton Friday, 42-14.

Both Squire scores came in the final 12 minutes. Sophomore Mason Rooney got into the game and ran one in from 12 yards out. Starting quarterback Brock Casper went 13-28 for 114 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. His passing touchdown went to Logan Eastgate.

Manchester is back in conference play next Friday at Wabash. Kickoff slated for 7 p.m.

Peru at Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko suffered a tough loss at the hands of Three Rivers Conference opponent Peru Friday, dropping the game 60-0. The Wildcats are on the road next Friday at Rochester.

Volleyball

Warsaw at Plymouth Powerball Tournament

PLYMOUTH – Warsaw volleyball had an unbelievable day at the Plymouth Powerball Tournament Saturday, going a perfect 4-0 to win the title without dropping a set. The Tigers defeated Valparaiso 2-0 (25-23, 25-19) in the championship match. Warsaw is now 7-3 this season.

The team also picked up straight set victories over Fort Wayne Snyder, Chesterton and New Prairie. Melaina Hawblitzel and Kaylee Weeks were very busy attacking, finishing with 33 and 27 kills to lead the team. Senior Avery Hales had 91 assists in the four matches. Ellie Hepler had four aces and 31 digs.

Warsaw is back in conference play Tuesday at Mishawaka.

Boys Soccer

Wawasee at West Noble

LIGONIER – Wawasee boys soccer improved to .500 with a non-conference win over West Noble Saturday. The Warriors are now 2-2 this season and plays its next game Tuesday against NorthWood to begin conference play.

Lakeland Christian at North Miami

DENVER, Ind. – Lakeland Christian boys soccer dropped an evenly contested game with North Miami Saturday, falling 1-0. The Cougars are now 0-4 this season.

Despite not being able to get on the scoreboard, LCA played at a good pace and controlled the ball in offensive territory for a large chunk of the game, finishing with eight corner kicks.

The Cougars play Winamac on the road Tuesday.
